I get it. You don't want to be too cynical, but why get excited when they tell you to be? I'd rather get excited by something that actually exists. My excitement will come when I see after release reviews and I can think "this is real!" I'll be excited when I can actually install the game and play it myself

I just like the idea of eastern myth games stuff we havent seen. We have seen greece eqypt all that stuff but very few eastern myth games. Few samurai games but chinese? Nah. Looks very cool hope they can get the gameplay right but have a feeling chinese gamers will destroy them if it falls flat. Hope they stick with it and FINISH it before release
I love how they put out trailers containing what is undeniably some of the best graphics to date and then apologise for it not being up to snuff, meanwhile we've got some high profile devs who still to this day won't admit to wrong doing and broken promises for mishandled games that've been out for years now. Pretty crazy.
The games I truly appreciate most did not have to display these miraculous trailers that lie to you visually. I'm not excited for this one, although I am a big fan of the sun wu kong story. Hype has been a big red flag for the past 5-10 years of gaming.
I was amazed with the first reveal trailer, but this one to me looks like trash. Maybe that's a rare opinion? But that's what I think.

The trailer is good, but we've been duped before. Those being wary about it do have good reasons for being wary - they are a collection of EX-Tencent employees as well. I generally *HATE* games that generally have a connection to Tencent (past or otherwise). I'm just pessimistic enough to be wary in case the other shoe drops and something about this game will become hinky.

I've learned this the hard way, and every gamer should know this by now. You don't judge a game based on trailers. You wait until the game is out and you are playing it. We have been deceived so many times that it's plain gullibility in this day and age to buy a game strictly based on the trailer.
People who constantly say stuff like "remember Cyberpunk?" Doesn't realise that: 1. Its an indie studio and not a company like cdpr, ea and activision 2. The reason why Cyberpunk failed was because they rushed it and aimed for the holidays for that sweet 💵 3. Just because its from chinese devs doesn't mean that it will be any worse. There are good people living in awful places and to just generalize the whole public because of that is just stupid. With that out of the way yes the game could turn out bad but theres zero evidence that will be the case. Its nothing but good news for now except maybe frame drops but that will be fixed in the long run. Also keep in mind that its releasing in 2023 which is a long ass time for some improvements to happen so lets not start speculating too early when its still in devolopment for 2 years. Also keep in mind they have been very transparent of the issues and they're looking to fix them
Anthem supposedly showed us 'actual game play footage' at an E3 but it was a total lie. Mass Effect Andromeda suffered major graphical downgrades from trailers to game release. And of course Cyberpunk 2077 which lied about almost everything. Never pre order. Never get your hopes up. Don't buy on day 1 either. Wait for reviews. Never buy micro transactions, season passes or day 1 dlc. Going forward we should all do that and game companies will be forced to make good quality games

From my experience. If it's Chinese doing these Chinese things. It gotta be good. You all known that they're not very good at creativity. But they're expert at detail, Hard working, Especially repeatetive task but not limited to it. So when you see the title are about things like Journey to the west (Wu Kong), Nezha, Jin Yong's novel, Gu Long's novel Then I can bet it'll be good.
After cyberpunk I'll never invest time in a game before it has released. From what I can see the trailer is all lies until proven not :P

I'm hyped for Black Myth Wukong. Since this is going to be about Chinese folklore, they have huge expectations to live up to. A huge blunder for a small studio in China is the death of it, even if they manage to make huge profits the first time round. I'm placing my bets that they'll make a game that's worth at least an 8/10.
I really love yongs channel but I think he overhypes games to the audience a bit too much. Like he raises expectations for games astronomically high and while I love his channel I’m kinda bugged that he didn’t learn from death stranding(not calling it bad just very mixed reception) and cyberpunk

I have to say that i have seen Yong hyped a videogame and followed its progress and i have been disappointed with s lot of it ...kojima's death stranding and Cdpr Cyberpunk did not turn out well ...really hope this one aint gonna be another disappointment

Other than the visuals, I see nothing that hasn't been done before. I mean, sure, the story is unique, but until we get hands-on gameplay (as in an open demo, or a 'let's play' by someone independent from the dev company), this game can be anything between a generic hack-n-slash, GoW clone, Soul's clone, or some sort of mix like Jedi Fallen Order. Never go by "gameplay" videos, because even if they are, they are most-likely manipulated specifically so they look "epic." So curb your hype, folks. 'Remember, Remember... the 9th of December...'
